How to Participate in Online Symposium “Politics of SDGs”

1. REGISTRATION

Firstly, please register to join the symposium: Click [REGISTRATION] in the menu at the top of the page. Select language version (English or Japanese) and click. 

This will take you to a google forms page. Please click on the [次へ] button to continue.

Q. Which Part of the symposium should I register for?

A. Please register for the Part 2 if you will be able to join the synchronous online symposium on 10^th March 9-12AM (JST). If you will not be able to join the Part 2, please register for the Part 1, asynchronous online symposium and participate by the following instructions.

2. Joining asynchronized online symposium (a.k.a. Symposium Part 1 : 21^st February–31^st March):

1. Create a login profile and login to the website so that you can make comments on the two videos.
   

   Participants of Part 2 (10^thMarch) can also watch video lectures in advance without creating a login profile. Please directly visit [PART 1 VIDEOS & DISCUSSION].

Steps to create a login profile:

a) Go to the menu at top of symposium website and click on the LOGIN HERE drop down menu. Select [Create A Login Profile]. 

b) After selecting create a login profile, enter your details on the screen. 

NOTE: The password requires you to use a strong password. Weak passwords may be rejected.

c) After creating a login profile, please return to the main page and click on LOGIN using the top menu or the sidebar.

This will take you to a login screen.

Once you login, it will automatically redirect the page to the Part 1 Video and Discussion list page.

* From the second time you login, you can directly visit [PART 1 VIDEOS & DISCUSSION] from the menu bar.

There will be guest lecture videos in this area. 

Click the “Continue Reading” on each of the video topics to watch the videos. 

2. Watch the two video lectures by the two guest speakers.

• • Participants of Part 2 can also watch video lectures in advance though we will show the video lectures at the synchronous symposium, too.

3. Write a question you would like to ask each quest speaker via commenting on the video using the reply on the bottom of the video page.

• • Some (unfortunately not all) questions will be read during the discussion time in synchronized online symposium (Part 2).

Steps to make a comment: There is a reply (comment) area at the bottom of each video.

4. Let’s exchange your thoughts and ideas with other participants! Leave a comment on other participants’ comments and reply to comments you get from other participants.

*Synchronized online symposium (Part II) on March 10^th (9:00-12:00 AM JST) will be recorded and all Part 1 participants can watch it later until March 31^st.
